It's interesting that while FileMon is running, the chatter would stop??? There are no suspect apps. A single process might use only a few megs of memory, or it might use several gigabytes. There is a recent hidden search added into updates and on W-7 and up, thankfully just turning on more of the built in security switches you find in settings kills off

By the way, when I didn't have pest patrol disabled, there was a bunch of ongoing memory checks of some kind. How did you determine that, and how are you measuring it? Please post a followup Hijack this log, and say if your problems persist. You could measure various apsects of system performace before running the tune up program, then run it afterwards and investigate the results in a controlled but diverse scenario.
